Complaint regarding responsible promotion of Scotch Whisky upheld
The Independent Complaints Panel has upheld a complaint against the Pure Scot brand.

The Independent Complaints Panel (ICP) have recently upheld a complaint made against elements of the Pure Scot Scotch Whisky brand’s approach to marketing their product via social media.

The complaint detailed that the Pure Scot Blended Scotch Whisky’s marketing was in conflict with the Scotch Whisky Association’s Code of Practice for the Responsible Marketing and Promotion of Scotch Whisky. The decision specifically referenced the breach of Code rules 4.1.2 (responsible consumption), 4.5.3 (sexual success) and 4.5.4 (generally acceptable standards of good taste).

Pure Scot has removed the posts in question from their social media feeds.
