Grain whiskies form the heart of all blended Scotch Whiskies. Located primarily in the Lowlands of Scotland, with the exception of one in the Northern Highlands, grain whisky distilleries operate a continuous distillation process from a mash of cereals, always including malted barley, but unlike malt whiskies, using also other unmalted cereals, as well as yeast and water.
