SWA - A century of protecting and promoting
19 Dec 2012
The Scotch Whisky Association embodies industry unity. Common
purpose has overcome war and post-war restrictions of cereals, tax
discrimination by Japan, Korea and Chile in the 1990s, secured
strong regulations on the definition of Scotch Whisky, protected
Scotch as a drink only coming from Scotland, negotiated climate
change agreements since the early 2000s and launched in 2009 an
environmental strategy that will sustain the industry going
forward.
As the SWA enters its second century, the industry is in good
heart.
