you know all about it? There's always more to learn
The Scotch Whisky Association is celebrating its
Centenary. Its major exhibition Scotch Whisky: From Grain to Glass
is running in The Scottish Parliament until 25 January.
On the evening of Wednesday 9 January, from 6pm, a
free-to-attend evening lecture and tasting is being held in
Committee Room One of The Scottish Parliament.
6-6.20pm
"The Scotch Whisky Association: a Century of Protecting and
Promoting Scotch Whisky". David Williamson, SWA deputy
director of international affairs, will take you through some
landmark events which shaped the industry in the last 100
years.
6.20-6.50pm
"Ninety-nine men out of a hundred would prefer a blend; the other
man would prefer an Islay...."; reflections on 100 years of Scotch
Whisky. Dr Nick Morgan, Diageo's head of whisky outreach, discusses
blends, including Diageo's own Johnnie Walker.
6.50-7.20pm
Scotch Whisky tasting led by Dr Nick Morgan.
Mary Scanlon, MSP and convener of the Cross Party Group on
Scotch Whisky, has kindly agreed to sponsor the event.
